Q11.What web application server platforms are supported by the training?
Q1. Does the training require the installation of any other software or hardware?

A. The training has been built in Macromedia Flash. It requires the Flash Player browser plugin which is shipped with Microsoft Internet Explorer by default, and is available for free for a number of other browsers including Netscape, Firefox and Mozilla. Other than this plug-in, no other software or hardware is required to run the training.

Q2. Does the training installation require settings to be changed on the web-server or integration with a database?

A. The training content is fully self-contained, and does not require any special web-server settings or other server-side software. For the electronic record of training functionality, the training requires either Microsoft IIS with support for ASP scripts (default), or an Apache webserver with support for PHP.

Q3. How long does the training installation take?

A.The training installation is a simple process of copying a number of files from the installation CDROM to a folder on the intranet webserver, and then running through a simple test script to ensure that everything is functioning. This process usually takes anywhere between 10 and 25 minutes to complete.

Q4. How much bandwidth will the training require per user?

A. The entire training program is approximately 40MB in size, and normally takes anywhere between 1 and 1.5 hours to complete. The training content is progressively downloaded in chunks of between 500k and 1.5MB in size.

Q5. What's the minimum connection speed required for intranet deployment?

A. The training will work with any connection speed. However, for best results, we recommend a minimum of 128kbs downstream. For situations where 128kbs downstream is unavailable, we recommend deploying using CDROM media.

Q6. If I deploy the training on CDROM, will I still obtain an electronic record of training?

A. Even though the training content is being run locally from the CDROM, it will still attempt to communicate with the intranet server and update the record of training. This will depend upon network connectivity being available between the user and the intranet. If connectivity is unavailable, the user will be prompted to telephone a contact within the company to report that they have completed the training.

Q7. Is there any way staff can ask questions while they are completing the training?

A. Yes. In the menu-bar at the top of the screen, there is a button to provide feedback. This allows the staff member to ask questions and provide comments at any point within the training program. This feedback is then forwarded to a nominated recipient within the company to respond.

Q8. Will staff with hearing or visual impairments still be able to do the training?

A. Yes. All of the content in the training is currently in audio format, and navigation is possible through the kayboard, making the training accessible to people with visual impariments. For those with hearing impairments, the manu-bar at the top of the screen includes a TEXT button which provides access to a text version of the content.

Q9. Do you provide multilingual versions of the training program?

A. Yes. We use a leading provider of multi-lingual services to assist us with language translation. We can provide a complete translation of the training program, including all text, audio and the interface, into just about any language.

Q10. Will we require specialist expertise to install the training on our intranet?

A. Anyone with the a basic understanding of web server administration will be able to install the training program. We provide very detailed step-by-step instructions for installation, so specialist expertise should not be required. However, we have a number of partners around the globe who can provide local installation and support services if required.

Q11. What web application server platforms are supported by the training?

A. Currently, we support Microsoft IIS with ASP scripting and a number of Apache variants with support for PHP scripting. We are also able to provide support for ColdFusion application servers as well.
